Program Description

This project will bring together Jewish and Arab High School Students for a 2 year course. They will enhance their civic studies level from 2 matriculation points (compulsory) to 5 points at the Virtual High School. This will contribute to the improvement of their matriculation test diploma.

This program is based on the Shared Education model implemented in Northern Ireland, in which students from different sectors learn  common subjects together in order to increase their knowledge and prepare for functioning as adult citizens in a diverse society. The curricula content focuses on economic and social policy in Israel and the Arab minority.

Potential Development - Pending Funding

The first cohort of students completed their two-year studies in June 2016. The program currently requires an additional year of philanthropic support in order to exhibit to partners at the Ministry of Education that the program is worthy of full-funding like any other high school elective topic.
