Program Description

Schools are matched between neighboring Arab and Jewish communities. Uni-national sessions are held once a week, for two hours, such that approximately 25 uni-national CTC sessions are held each year. After several weeks of uni-national sessions, the participating classes begin a series of approximately three encounters with their parallel class.

Objectives-Students in the program will:

  • Participate in positive, personal interaction with "the other" based on well-grounded personal and group identities.

  • Develop critical thinking and a more critical perspective of the complex reality within which they live.

  • Understand and absorb the principles of tolerance, mutual respect, democracy, and peace.

  • Cultivate learning and reflection on the meaning of democracy and shared living between Jews and Arabs in the State of Israel.
