“Fingerprints” strengthens multicultural society by empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to interact as peers. Jewish and Arab students at Achva become acquainted with each other through creative joint activities far removed from politics and ideology, such as sophisticated interactive games and art. Participants create artistic personal profiles, which they share with the Achva student body and the general public at an annual exhibit and online. They overcome fear, suspicion, and stereotypes while developing personal connections through unconventional means, centering on personal interests and elements of daily life. Focusing on the individual instead of ethnicity forms friendships across the social abyss, and the tools gained are applicable beyond the confines of the program.
