“Creating a Reality Together” aims to change the Israeli socio-economic balance of power through Jewish-Arab student dialogue and joint action. The program addresses the root and effect of the Jewish-Arab conflict and the resulting political and ethnic power divide in Israeli society. The program confronts participants’ differences head-on, including differing ethnic narratives, racism, and preconceived notions. Stereotype-correcting information is studied, and the program equips participants to act together to change attitudes toward the ‘Other’ and social roles and responsibilities on campus and beyond. Having gained practical skills for dynamic facilitation in the face of polarized viewpoints, participants develop joint public initiatives to promote a shared Israeli society.
